My friend thinks its okay to get abortions because the fetus doesn't have a heart. I don't care if you are pro or anti abortion; because that's not my question.
Anyway I told her she was an idiot because fetus' do have hearts and she stated that they don't give abortions if its beating. I told her that they do, but she doesn't believe me. So when does the heart start beating? I thought that by the time a period is missed the heart is beating or about to start beating.

Baby has a heart right from the beginning. It is just very very tiny. You might just not hear it until a 8-12 weeks go by. Sperm and egg equal human being, not a blob of disposable cells.
They kill babies right up to before they would normally be delivered. They call it partial birth abortion which has to be the most barbaric practice every. If the mother gave birth to a live child and stuffed it in a garbage bag she would be charged with murder. If the physician sticks a knife in the back of the baby's neck before it is fully born that is ok?
