and would you give it to your daughter
Answer:
I'm glad you asked about this, I'm thinking about getting the vaccine myself, and yes, I'm worried about it. There's so much speak from both sides.
They don't know the long-term side effects. in fact, they don't have any studies that it lasts beyond four years (not saying it doesn't, just no empirical data).
I do believe that the political war over it is probably mostly backed by unsavory characters on both sides. First you’ve the greedy companies trying to milk all the money possible out of it. Then you have the people who run around screaming that teaching ONLY abstinence is the answer to stds (nice try, but 5th graders are having sex).
I scanned many of the previous Q&As on this site related to GARDASIL, and the most sensible answer I have the ability to find is this:
How old is your daughter? Is she having sex or “messing around”? Are you 100% sure about this? If she's still rather young (and not sexually active), maybe wait for more long-term studies to be done on this vaccine.
Sigh. It's terrible, but I can't give you a real answer. She gets vaccinated, and perhaps the anti-gardasil side is right, it hurts her somehow. Or she doesn't get vaccinated and she has sex (heaven forbid if it wasn't her choice) and winds up with genital warts or the HPV virus.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I sometimes wish that medication and large business were separate entirely, but I guess that's the nature of the beast. Somebody somewhere is going to profit, no matter who funds research or owns the patent.
Talk to the doctors about your concerns. Best of luck to you and your daughter.
Answer:
I've finished all three of the Gardasil injections and had no problems other than some soreness in my arm where they gave me the shot. If I had a daughter I'd want her to have the vaccine too.
Gardasil is FDA approved, and the Center for Disease Control has studied the vaccine and found no serious side effects. In rare cases someone may be allergic to the vaccine, but that's the only known serious concern. The Gardasil vaccine does not contain mercury, thimerosal, or a live virus.
There have been a few reports of girls fainting after getting their shot, but I don't see why so many Gardasil opponents on here are getting hysterical about this. Some girls are bound to faint after ANY shot just because they're scared of getting shots. Even if the vaccine itself did actually cause fainting (which has not been proven), I'd rather deal with fainting a couple of times than wind up with cancer later on.
Answer:
My mom force me to go to the doctors for the shot of Gardasil.
They aren't any side effect when the shot is given but before the physicians give it to your daughter, they will give you a brochure with information and possible side effect.
My mom made me take it because it help prevent cancer “down there”.
Answer:
i had gardasil a couple years ago, it was no biggie
sure my arm injured for a couple days, but i think its absolutely worth not getting cancer
and if youre concerned about it, ask your daughter's doctor, he/she will have the ideal answer because he knows about her personal health the ideal
