my mother has a Temperature of 101.2 and flu like symptoms. Shes wondering if she should go to the er or not.

Answer:
I believe a fever of 104 for more than a couple of hours is considered hazardous. 101.2 with flu like symptoms is probably just the flu and should not be treated in an emergency room as it is not life threatening.
I expect the old “take 2 asprin and call me in the morning” is appropriate in this case unless she has other health problems that would make a fever especially dangerous for her.

Answer:
Any human with a temperature over 100 degrees F should consult a physician. Once the temperature reaches 102, the patient should seek ER care immediately, especially if he/she cannot hold down any type of food or liquid. High temperatures indicate some type of infection, and if they are left unchecked, can result in stroke or sometimes death.

Answer:
if she has not been able to hold down any liquids for more than 24hrs she needs to go. when an adult gets a temp of 102 to 103 they should be in the ER. as always i strongly suggest that you call your doctor and they will have an answering service, and page a doc to call you. there are so many other symptoms that need to be considered and only a medical doctor should be suggesting that she seek urgent care or ER care. best wishes.

Answer:
If nothing you do is bring her temp down, take her to the ER as soon as possible. She is probably dehydrated if she can't keep anything down and with a temp it can get perilous if you don't act fast. good luck.

Answer:
ya it's an appropriate temp. to go to hospital…

Answer:
101 is pretty high, but 102 she should def go to the dr. give her some over the counter meds and see if they help.

Answer:
she should go there in the hospital

Answer:
that is high, call 911 and have an ambulace pick her up.
