I have this pain on the left side of my ribcage up near where my boob is, only to the side of my boob. It hurts when I cough, laugh, sit up, move my left arm too fast, and other things like that. It doesn't hurt THAT much.
I have also had a really bad cough and a snotty nose for like a month now. I don't know what's up with that.
Some guy answering another question wrote:Don't freak out, but you may have an infection of the peri-cardial sac and you must take this seriously - get X-rays immediately. If you're lucky, and this is due to your URI, it may only be bronchitis or pneumonia, or strained muscles including diaphragm from coughing. See the doctor immediately!
Can I see a doctor tomorrow? How soon is immediately, because I have an appointment tomorrow and my father doesn't want to take me to an emergency room
Answer:
You should be fine until tomorrow. Since you have had a cold for a month and possibly the cough, then one more day isn't going to hurt.
If it was your heart, nothing you did would make the pain stop. Even getting in a different position wouldn't help. Also, coughing would not make it worse if it were your heart. True heart pain is going to hurt no matter what you do. So try not to worry. It's probably something related to your cold/cough and could possibly be a pulled muscle from coughing.
Answer:
BK stated that to feel self important. From what you describe, I very much doubt you’ve a pericardial infection…more likely you’ve intercostal pain from coughing a lot. Your symptoms have gone on too long however, so I’m glad you are seeing a physician…yes you’ll be fine till you see him tomorrow. Rest.
Answer:
If it hurts so bad you can't stand it and it makes you cry, then go to the ER.
If you can't breathe then go.
Otherwise wait till you go to the doc.

To qoute yourself:
“I have also had a really bad cough and a snotty nose for like a month now.”
Odds are you are coughing when you sleep and that will be the cause of your rib pain. However, your cold has gone for to long so you should see a physician.
Can you wait until tomorrow? That depends. Do you have a fever? Are you in immediate severe pain constantly? If not, then “Yes” you can wait until tomorrrow.
Answer:
honestly don't worry about it… if you feel any worse or you condition deteriorates and you start feeling sick or anything else. if you’re worried tell your parents exactly what you’ve told us and they will put your mind to reset. Whoever wrote that coment was just trying to scare you and its mean. tell your parents and they will put your mind at ease in a second. you’ve done a good thing by booking an apointment and the physician may end up telling you its nothing and you’ll laugh at yourself for getting scared, but its understandable why you’re getting worried i do the same and get worried about the littlest thing.
