Well idk INSOMNIA ******
I'm 14 and that's my story too. sleeping is boring anyway… and you only wake up from dreams you wish you stayed asleep to finish ..ummm but if it bothers you, than I can help I think.
Well, if you are drinking at those parties, than you're mind is distracted and not thinking about anything serious or anxiety-welcoming to your head while you are falling asleep. Alcohol makes you careless, and sometimes tired.
When most people can't fall asleep it is because something is bothering them, even if you don't know exactly what it is. Something keeps you awake.
Just being with friends is also somehow satisfying. Like you know everything is okay, and everything will be okay the next day. Even more, you have the next day to look forward to. There are prescriptions that you can get written out for you by a doctor, but don't do that too soon. They could have side effects and as a general rule, if there is something to do before taking the pills, than you should do it first.
Try yoga, it actually helped me when I was doing it. It just relaxes you. Also, it gets your energy out so you don't get anxious later.
For me, sometimes a lot of why I sometimes can't fall asleep is just because I don't feel like I am ready to. I might not be tired, or I may just feel like I haven't used my day well enough yet, or done something to make it worth the rest.
Try something that relaxes you. You can try an ipod, noises, tea or whatever, reading,
Also, my parents are always telling me to get on a better sleep schedule…I don't listen but I know I should. If it makes any difference, you should be going to bed earlier than 2 am!! = )
When I stay up on week nights or whatever, even if I am tired, it is sometimes because I ate too soon before I was trying to go to sleep. Coffee, sugar, or any type of caffeine is the worst. But meal-size portions of food is something you shouldn't do within an hour oof when you try to get to bed.
Whatever, I sound like my parents, but since they are doctors, maybe it will be of good use : )
hope this helps, Good luckk!! sleep tight

I have the same problem. I think its loneliness in my case. If I have someone spend the night here or sleep some where else I can sleep fine. Also if I go out and come home late I crash pretty easy. At first I thought I was just missing having a female sleep next to me in bed, but even if I have girl or guy sleep in my extra room I seem to sleep better.

Answer:
My sister is EXACTLY like that but she goes to bed earlier lol. She went to the doctor for it and she tried sleeping pills but didn't work much. You might have anxiety but I'm not sure. You might be to stressed out or are excited for things. Also hormones keep you up at night and sometimes can't put you too sleep because they are ragging lol (but your prob past that). Also don't drink milk or coffee before you go to sleep or watch TV because too much energy keeps you awake. Try reading a mag or a book for ages and eventually your eyes will want to sleep and so will your brain. Soz i didnt help much.
Goood luck !
