Every now and then, maybe twice a year, I will be just going to sleep, almost unconscious, slipping beneath the waters, and all of a sudden…. BLAM! or GRRRRIIIIIIIIIIND! A loud sound and corresponding strange sensation goes off in my brain, and I'm awake. Like gears grinding to a halt, with the sound and the feeling of such a thing, or a gunshot. I chalk it up to intense firing of brain synapses. Do any of y'all experience this kind of phenomenon?
Answer:
It's exploding head syndrome

Answer:
Most people believe that this is related to the phenomena of astral projection. The BAM feeling is your astral body being pulled back into your physical body because it sensed something was amiss. I have it happen every once and a while.
Answer:
I've never experienced this. I think it's called a night terror. You aren't exactly asleep yet but just as you're getting there-BAM! You're awake! Most people wake up screaming or terrified.
Answer:
Yep, its weird but luckily it doesn't happen often to me.
