Does 1800 Contacts always have to verify your prescription with your physician each time you re-order? I thought it was only the one time (when I made my first order), but it's verifying my prescription again with my second order. Do they do this with every order?

Also, is the standard shipping of 5-7 days accurate? Because I always hear people say they've received them in as soon as 2 days. Not that I'm complaining. :)

Answer:
The reason for verifying / re-verifying your prescription is that contact lens prescriptions expire. Once the prescription has expired, your eye physician must re-examine your eyes to make sure that nothing has changed, both with your prescription, and with the health of your eyes.

Answer:
Yes, they verify each, single time. It's illegal to sell a prescription that's expired. A pharmacist wouldn't fill an expired Rx for medication…contacts are medical devices. BTW, it's pain in the butt for us opticians to verify them, they're automated messages that ring back each 5 minutes until the Rx is verified. We much prefer for you to call us or to come in to order. Even if 1-800-Contacts is cheapers, most places will price match if you can show proof of the prices.
