I wear glasses. Recently, I've experienced a tiny blurriness whenever I try to read small letters (particularly letters small in font). However, when I take my glasses off, I can read everything normally.
Is this a sign of glaucoma, or am I simply straining my eyes?
Thanks in advance!
Answer:
no. not a sign of glaucoma. for the most part glaucoma has NO signs/symptoms from the patient's perspective. it doesnt hurt, doesnt cause blur, doesnt cause redness, doaesnt cause eyestrain, doesnt cause anything…until its too late. there are very rare forms of glaucoma that cause blur, pain, & redness (angle closure glaucoma)…but no eye disease causes your vision to be clear up close with glasses off and blurry/difficult up close with glasses on. thats a refractive problem.
time to go to the optometrist, b/c the problem you are describing sounds like a refractive one…probably emerging presbyopia.
Answer:
No! Glaucoma has no signs. Glaucoma will blind you from the outside in. Although the blinding goes quite unoticed due to being so suttle.
