I've had that problem, and all i can state is, reassure yourself it was just a dream, and that nothing like that in the dream can happen.
The worst ones are the depressing ones. you're in some sort of celebration, when you get there, everyones there, but then after a few minutes, the party moved on and you're all alone.
Another one is where you somehow get tons of cash and when you wake up you realize that was a dream.
Your best bet is to relax yourself as you wake up and tell yourself you were in a dream, and nothing in that dream ever happened or could happen.
