Lately at school I find it pretty hard to concentrate, I zone out and can't motivate myself to get school work finished. This clears up when I'm doing somthing that I like, stuff at home maybe. I have been diagnosed with minor ADHD and a learning disability (for those that don't know, a learning disability doesn't mean I can't learn, it means that I require an alternate education technique, I learn through different means than others). I am taking 18mg of concerta to treat the adhd, but lately it doesnt seem to be helping much. The only symptons I get from ADHD, is low attention span, Im not super hyper or anything. I know the physician might know, but last time this happended he upped the dosage and for some crazy reason, I started having a crazily low attention span, I'd want to do somthing and I'd be really excited, the next second I'd not want to do it anymore. So we lowered it and everything was ok, up until now. So I'm just wondering is their anything I have the ability to do to try and concentrate superior? I want to do well in school. Im 14 yo by the way, and I'm a guy.

You sound a lot like myself when I was a kid but, you seem to be smarter than I was because I never reached out to anyone.

I’m not Theresa I’m her husband and she is not 39 she’s 42 LOL.

This Is What I Think You Should Do & Not Necessarily In This Order:

1. I am not a physician nor do I think that I know more than a physician - so keep doing what your doctor tells you to do. If you're not satisfied with the results get a 2nd opinion.

2. Reach out to a teacher, principle, counselor etc… and explain to them your situation and be as exact as you can be.

3. Find something inside yourself that motivates you (mind over matter), make yourself interested in whatever you're doing. This truly worked for me. Whenever you get bored or the work seems difficult find a positive thought on that subject and on life in general.

4. This is a product that I drink that helps me focus and energize (in my head anyway) Life 2 Go.
There is a warning label for kids under 12 and/or sensitive to caffeine - it contains 250mg of caffeine per bottle that's a lot less than coffee or a bottle of Mountain Dew or one of those energy drinks out there.
I purchase it on the web at Heart Wise Foods .Com, but since you’re just 14 yrs. old check with your parents and/or your doctor before you go out and buy this stuff .
This is a link that will take you right to this product - http://www.heartwisefood.com/smi1.html

GOOD LUCK!
