The doctor diagnosed that i have mood disorder. when i met him i was feeling very confident, positive, walked really fast like i was nearly running around the house. didnt feel the need to sleep. i was active. He prescribed serlift 50 mg. the next day i wasnt as active as i was the previous day. afterwhich i was absolutely depressed for nearly like a week now. i force myslef to do any activity. i want to be alone in my room. i dont feel like going out, if i have the need to go out i need a friend to come along. sometimes i feel my heart so heavy that i feel i need to take severe drugs to make me sleep whole day and night. i get disturbed sleep at night. today i am feeling better that i can sit infront of my pc for an hour now. i am not absolutely feeling superior though. the people who look at me think that i am very lazy. some of my friends think that i dont need medicines at all..they say if i am engaged in some activities i would be fine. some others advice me that i should try and come out of depression. i dont know how to explain it to them. they make me feel worse and make me wanna run away from here. i explained it to my physician and now he has now precribed me to take oleanz 2.5 mg along with serlift. so this day i will begin taking this. now i need to know if i need ect? what effect does it cause? will it help my depression or is it only used to treat more severe depression?

Answer:
It does sound like you are suffering from depression, however ECT is not even allowed in certain parts of the world due to the fact that people are unsure of it's effectiveness as well as dangerous side effects. As a professional myself, I can tell you that there are many ways to combat depression, and I would suggest you try everything you can possibly think of before going down that route. Sometimes therapy, medication, or both take a while to be effective, there’s never going to be a quick solution and it would be a shame to go through something as drastic as ECT if you could have figured out another way to help yourself.

Answer:
please, don't go to ECT therapy:it is used in people who are not responding to any medication and who have really severe depression.
ECT can cause you to have amnesia or loss of memory(hmm i think the long-term memory?)
im not a Dr,i am thinking your symptoms sound like manic-depressive. disorder?

Answer:
Yes

Answer:
ECT is a very drastic measure that I'm surprised is even an option. The drugs you're taking should not be causing the symptoms you describe (you've done a 180!). Many anti-depressants have been found to cause suicidal thoughts in teens and young people, so you should go to another physician and ask for alternatives to the poisonous drugs most physicians want to put you on. You can try to see an osteopath (D.O) or other natural doctor that should recommend a natural remedy before you resort to hard drugs. Many illnesses these days are caused by our diets full of chemicals and pesticides, electro-magnetic radiation (cell phone towers, power lines, wireless devices, etc.) and drugs that cause side effects. Good luck to you.
