Feeling worthless?

Author: admin

i never thought it would come to me having to write on one of these world wide web things but i dunno what else to do.I have felt worthless, lonely and depressed as far as i can remember im 25 i thought i would have grown out of this by now. I’ve tried meds and therapy in the past but i still dont care about myself and feel outta place with everyone around me. I wish i could die without killing myself because i feel that the world would be superior without me. I know its wrong to feel sorry for yourself and i try to be a good friend and family member thats why i dont want to burden them with my self pity.I feel much shame for being down on myself all the time i wasn't raised to be a huge wuss. I dont know really what im asking for i just feel like im going through the motions of life i just dont want 2 injured anymore i just want out….

I can understand how you feel. I've struggled with depression since as long as I can remember and the only thing that stops me from ending things when thats on my mind is what it would do to others.

Things can improve though if you put the work in. Maybe its worth going back to your gp and exploring other medication and therapy that could help, not everything is suited to everyone.

If you've not read anything about cognitive behavioural techniques I highly advocate it, it can help you learn to recognise and stop falling back into negative ways of thinking. “Overcoming Depression” by Paul Gilbert is a good book on this subject.

You state you feel out of place with everyone-perhaps you could try a social group for people with mental health problems. You can do activities to occupy your mind from just sitting and thinking about yourself, while also meeting and making friends with people in the same situation. They can also be a good place to share how you feel without feeling guilty because its an environment especially designed for that.

Try not to beat yourself up and feel guilty. I know for me its just a cycle-I feel guilty because I feel so low and sometimes cant do anything because Im so down, then it makes me feel more guilty! Instead, maybe you can try to just accept that this is how you feel but make small steps to change things which will make you feel proud of yourself. You're not a wuss, there are reasons you feel like this which could include a chemical imbalance in your brain.

Good luck, and remember you’ve a lot to give and the world WOULDNT be better without you.

Find another doctor to help you out. Sometimes therapy with spirituality helps…find a passion….

in the meantime…..I recommend writing in a grateful journal each day…..or anytime you feel blue….write down 10 things or even five things that you are grateful for. Sometimes you may only be grateful for having toothpaste or something else trivial….thats ok….your still grateful…do that for a month and see what happens…

then read some books on the Law of Attraction and begin practicing that because you’ll be amazed what happens. Looks like right now you are focusing on the negative and therefore you’re going to get more of that…

And in addition…it is time to get out there and exercise….walk, run, go to the gym, do yoga…anything you need to move that depression out of your body…

Stay alive

Try getting involved in something you're really interested in. Try surrounding yourself with people who will motivate you. Set goals for yourself. Maybe even try a new religion. I use to feel like this all the time until I got involved in things that really interested me like helping other people. Do things that make you feel good about yourself. Good luck and I hope you can begin feeling superior soon.

i think we all feel like this one time or another, just remember you're not alone. find something you are passionate about and run with it. killing yourself is never the answer. just do what you want to do and be who you want to be, if there is one thing i have realized is that you make your own destiny. go for it.

Nothing is that bad, you have to find something new to do and look forward to. Maybe you need to change your lifestyle or go do something new. Trust me, I was that way and at one time, but now I keep busy and I don't think about it. You need to keep taking your meds and maybe also try vitamin B12 also since that might help in a few weeks. Also if you just starting taking your meds it takes about 3 to 6 weeks before your body responce to the meds. So give it some time and try to do something nice for yourself and see how it goes. Best of luck and I hope you stay planted here. Try to smile and know that people you’ve never met do care about you and I hope you feel superior. Hugs. Cyn
