Not sure what it is…do you have a clean roomat home…(do you have mice and alot of cheese laying around for them to eat)….try going around the house (not just at work) when your home with your shoes off…let em get air. Try rotating your shoes, and wear a different pair each day, sometimes this may do the trick. I had the same problem when I wore the same sneakers sockless, (Hate wearign sox)
SO now I wear different pairs of sneakers sockless and do not have an odor problem.
Answer:
The sweating isn't the real problem for the odor. Your body sheds skin cells every day…yes, even the soles of your feet. When your feet sweat, it mixes with those shed skin cells, and sebum, a natural lubricant , and the bacteria on your skin begin to digest this mixture, hence the odor.
The solution is fairly simple. Your socks can be a contributing factor. Ditch the nylon or polyester socks. They don't wick away the perspiration and you wind up stewing in the moisture. Opt, instead, for all cotton socks. they'll wick away the perspiration and keep your feet cooler, cutting down the moisture.
Dr. Scholls makes a number of inserts you can slip into your shoes to control odor. Just make sure you change them frequently. After all, they'll only absorb so much moisture, and then they become stinkpots themselves. And speaking of shoes, they need a good airing out after wearing, especially for those of us that suffer from hyperhydrosis. Several pairs will allow you to rotate them, so by the time you get back to the first pair, they're nice and dry.
They now have, on the market, smaller negative ionizers that fit into shoes, and will do a super job of deodorizing those stinky shoes. You simply plug them in, stick them in your shoes, and by the morning, they're nice and clean smelling.
Summer's the time when the problem really gets bad, so I'd make it a habit of carrying an extra pair of socks with you, to work, so when the ones you're wearing start to feel damp, it'll be a simple matter of changing them. No more odor.
