Today I went to get a physical from this new doctor since I'm new to the area and we got to the part where he was pressing on my stomach and on my lower right side by my navel it injured really bad when he pressed on it, like never before. Anyways, I've had some pretty bad gas since I woke up (I had lentils last night..haha) and I haven't gone number 2 for two days now, anyway, the physician said it could be my appendix and I should go to the ER right away. I went home bc I was exhausted from work but when I got home I took a large (sorry TMI i know) dump and now my stomach feels normal again. Do you think I should still get it checked out or no? I really don't think I need to I'm not doubled over in pain, and I'm not running a fever or anything.
Answer:
You’re probably correct. Constipation with trapped gas can generate some tremendous abdominal pain. If your BM relieved it, you should be good to go (no pun intended).
Answer:
Did he do any blood work? I would advocate a follow up still. Just because the pain subsided does not mean it can not be an appendicitis. They are considered intermittent (come and go) and I personally would recommend a superior diagnostic work up. It might be nothing other than being constipated but again….
A ruptured appendix and peritonitis is much worse than an a ER bill. Get a second view and a better work up.
Good luck
Answer:
you know your body best. if you state it feels normal, then i wouldn't worry too much about your appendix. now, if it ends up just being temporary relief, i would have it checked. sometimes gas gets stuck in my sytem and after a good let go or bm i feel superior. the pressure is what can cause some real pain.
Answer:
I think you should be fine. You were probably just a bit backed up. But if the pain comes back then that might be a signal that you do need to get it checked out in the ER. You should try adding fiber to your diet to keep your bowel movements more regular, and you should be all set.

Answer:
wait and see what happens if it gets bad again then go to the ER wright away
Answer:
Probably should, or at least go to a physician or clinic that can order some tests to see if it is your appendix. It could have been your appendix causing the pain and it might have ruptured. Once it ruptures the pain is relieved for a little while but will return due to the infection being spilled into the abdominal cavity. If you do decide to wait and the pain does return, as bad or as worse as it did before, get to an ER ASAP, call an ambulance if you have to. Because the infection form a ruptured apendix is very bad.
Answer:
This sounds perfectly normal , but if it becomes a persistent thing , it could be IBS. (among other things.)
I would (personally) wait , if the pain subsided after BM , appendicitis wouldn't.
The doctor is covering his own buttocks by saying it could be appendix pain , because it indeed could. They don't want to be sued.
I have covered mine by saying (personally) because I’ve IBS , and I know it will eventually subside in me. But any time you ask a physician what to do about pain in that area is check for appendicitis.
My wife was admitted to the hospital for left shoulder pain , they stated it could be a heart attack.
My wife now regrets saying” I have to have done something to it ” instead of the truth , “I twisted it during sex” TMI would have been great in that case.
If you currently have NO symptoms then I can't believe it's important.
If it comes back in the same spot soon check it out , soon.
