and I'm a very light sleeper, so every time he talks in his sleep it wakes me up. What causes someone to speak in their sleep, and will it ever go away? It's becoming harder for me to deal with.
Answer:
It's something wrong with the way your body switches off - if you sleep-talk or walk your body hasn't shut itself down properly (you should effectively be paralysed while you sleep). There are sleep clinics around who diagnose and treat sleep problems, you should get him to ask his GP.
In the meantime could you try earplugs?
Answer:
lol my fiancee and I BOTH sleep talk. I think it would be funny to put a tape recorder in our bedroom some night and see what we say. As for your guy, I'd recommend, as the person you picked as best answer did, earplugs. Report Abuse
Answer:
Hah, way to take advantage of him in his sleep, though I'm not saying he wouldn't do the same if the roles were reversed.
Answer:
I don't know what causes it but I speak in my sleep. More when I'm exhausted too. It has something to do with not getting to the third stage REM, which is the deepest sleep you get into.
You might have to get earplugs or something to wear at night to muffle the sounds.
Answer:
Speak to him…you can get some good info. Try just asking him.
