My sister has a wound right below her lip that she keeps biting open. She has cerebral palsy and cannot speak and muscle control, so i assume it hurts her and thats why she keeps biting it open. Is there any medication, herbal or over the counter, that we could put on it while she sleeps so it can cure overnight? I fear if it doesnt it will become an absess. We try our ideal to cover it and keep her out of it but it probabaly hurts her a lot.

Answer:
My Baby brother has sort of the same problem. He has a rare genetic disorder called Hemophilia, a disorder that prevents your blood from clotting the way it should. He fell the other day and busted his lip open. It was in a terrible spot to heal. He got an injection from the the hospital of his normal meds but he he also took a medicane called Amicar. It is supposed to help heal any wounds he has in his mouth. I don't know if this helps or not but good luck.

Answer:
Orajel might numb it enough to take her attention away from it for a while. You'd have to reapply each so often.

Also, my parents truly did put superglue on my scalp when I bumped it as a child - common use for superglue, but the scratchiness of it when it dries could draw her focus to it more. Also, I don't know if it's safe to use for the face.

Answer:
no, there isn't. can you cover it so that her teeth can't touch it? like with a plastic cover of some sort similar to what they put on injection sites. ask her physician.

Answer:
put superglue in it.

Answer:
no there isn't
