I jammed my finger in the door like a week ago and its still a lil numb not absolutely but like the tip of it. It's not infected, no discoloration, and its healing. But is the numbness nnormal, busted blood vessel nerve damage maybe?
Answer:
your finger tips have a lot of nerve endings and this is how you get the sense of touch. You more than likely still have so inflammation around these nerve endings causing the numb sensation. Give it a tiny more time and it will pass. An example as to the amount of nerve endings in a finger: If you get a laceration on your finger requiring sutures, the ER MD will normally do a local nerve block anesthetic at the base of the thumb since if they just injected it locally in the laceration it may not block all the pain sensation. Hope this helps!
