Don't you somehow snap the needle part? I don't feel comfortable just throwing the needle away with a cap on. In case someone digs in the dumpster.

I work @ a transfer station and we tell people that ask to put it in a thick plastic bottle with a cap that was part of our training.

That is what Sharps containers are for- re-capping is the best way to get stuck.
