When I get chilly, not cold like winter freezing cold, but slightly chilled, my fingers and toes sometimes go numb. Recently I have noticed that my left index finger looses all color for awhile as well. If I begin to shake and rub my hands, or run them under warm water it usualy clears right up.
I get cold pretty easily, and I work early in the morning when its still chilly out so this happens pretty frequently. The first time I noticed was sometime around February, but I didn't think much of it then, as it was REALLY cold outside at that time.
Anyone heard of anything similar? Or know what could cause it? ( I know if I'm really worried I should go to the doc, but I hate to and don't have the time or money anyways)
Answer:
It sounds like you are suffering from something called Raynauds disease. I have been diagnosed with this condition for more than 25 years. It causes me some discomfort when it occurs but I try to avoid allowing my hands to become cold and prevent my hands from holding anything that is vibrating.

Answer:
It is definitely Raynauds disease. There us not much a doctor ca n do about it. Don't let your hands get cold. Use a hand warmer if necessary. It doesn't have to be below freezing for your hands to get this way. Also if you get stressed over something and your hands are a bit cold, it could happen. When I lived in Michigan this happened to me all winter and it can get very painful. Move to the South. That's what I did and I've never had the problem since
