What damage does self harm cause?

What damage can causing bruising on yourself do to your body? Other than the obvious-a bruise- does it cause any internal damage?

I don't think it can do anything, but it shows that if he bruises easily, he has sensitive skin. One way to make it less easy to bruise is if you put on a few pounds! Seriously! Becuase then your skin becomes more padded with fat.

well, a bruise is internal bleeding, i think. so, if what i believe to be true is, then yes a bruise does cause, in fact it IS, internal damage.
