Sore throat?

my throat hurts really bad, theres a LOT of flem in it, and I dont think its strep because it started barely hurting a couple weeks ago and its gradually getting worse each day. Now I can't even swollow without a lot of pain. what could it be?

Mono can also cause a sore throat that tends to last for longer periods of time. I would also expect other symptoms:

Peritonsillar abscess can also develop more slowly until it finally causes severe pain and difficulty opening the mouth all the way:

Could be your tonsills. Try gargling warm salt water. Go to the Doctor and have it checked out properly.

it started out as a sore throat but formed into a strep, that has happened to me before and i eventaully went to the doctor and foooound out it was strep
