i took 2 7.5/500apap hydrocodone last night (prescribed to me for backpain) cause 1 didn't work anymore but when i woke up this morning i blew my nose and it bled a tiny bit. you could hardly tell but is that bad?
Answer:
No, the APAP is acetaminophen-tylenol. It causes your blood to thin which can cause bleeding.
The nausea is probably due to the hydrocodone, but the APAP also causes this as well.
Eat something or drink milk with it next time and it should help the nausea.
and I would also like to add, the 7.5/500 means it has 7.5mg of hydrocodone and 500mg of APAP in one pill. You shouldn't take over 4000mg of the APAP a day.
Try takin one and a half next time, you should only take 2.5-10mg of hydrocodone every 3-6 hours.
Answer:
Many pain meds can thin the blood somewhat. I wouldn't worry about that unless it starts to bleed and you can't stop it. Taking 2 of that dosage seems like a lot. Are you sure you were to take 2? They are probably causing your stomach to be upset.
Answer:
The nausea may be from the Vicodin. The nose bleed is not. You might try adjusting the dose. Two tablets is a pretty hefty dose. One or one and a half may be sufficient.

Listed from the website drugs.com here is the side effects
Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take hydrocodone and acetaminophen and talk to your doctor if you experience

· dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, or decreased appetite;
· dizziness, tiredness, or lightheadedness;
· muscle twitches;
· sweating;
· itching;
· decreased urination; or
· decreased sex drive.
It also states other side effects not listed are possible since nose bleeds is not listed or it may be from something else
Answer:
The nausea is caused by the hydrocodone - just be sure you have something in your tummy before you take it. Also you might try a lower dosage - the more you start out on the more you will need down the road for pain. Try to stick to as low a dosage as you can and still get pain relief. As for the nose bleed, I have never heard of that side effect. You may have scratched the inside of your nose in the night, slept a bit wrong or even bumped your nose in the night to cause the bleeding. If your pain is very bad your blood pressure does go up with your pain level so may have caused you to get a slight nose bleed too. Just keep an eye on this to see if it was a one time occurance so that if it was you have your answer but if it continues you can tell your Dr about this concern. Have your blood pressure checked too to rule this one out. Check it when your pain is controlled and when your pain is at it's worst so you have some numbers to give to your Dr if you need to. Best of luck and I am sorry to hear of your back pain.
Answer:
If it is still cold outside,and you have your heat on overnight it is dry heat which will cause it to bleed-and the upset stomach-I don't know why the other people said it was bcause of the hydrocodone-that's in half life now if not gone from your system if it has been more than 15hrs!!! The pain meds can upset your stomach-I suggest taking them with milk so your stomach is coated if you take with food it takes an extra 30 minutes to get through your system,and remember taking pain meds after your pain has started or is at its absolute worst-the pills are not as effective. You should take them as soon as you get up in the morning,and right when you can feel your first dose wearing off or right when you start to feel the pain coming back!! And the gidl who answered and is a nurse should know that Tylenol doesn't thin out your blood,but asprin does along with Aleve,Naprosyn,and any NSAID(Non Steroidal Anti Inflammitory Drug)
