When I get in the shower/bath I get these rashes all over my chest and neck. They itch quite a bit but go away after about 15 mins to 1 hour after getting out of the water. I’ve quite sensitive skin. I got them for the first time in about july when I was visiting my Nan and since then they have come back whenever I come in contact with water. They look like lots of tiny red patches.

Am I allergic to water or something? I'm so confused. Please help. :) Thanks. xx

Answer:
it is possible you’re allergic to water…i watched this document of a girl allergic to it…

she could only have 5 min showers and used that hand-gel stuff …like water..

i would state don't spend that long in it….

or go to physician

Answer:
Ok- 2 possibilities I’m thinking.

1) You have changed you body wash. If so this could be the cause and you should try a new body wash, maybe you’re allergic to this.

2) You’ve the water on too hot. Turn the water on lukewarm and get in the shower. Do not rub yourself dry when you get out of the shower, pat yourself dry, it helps to retain the moisturizer.

Now–here are some questions that may help. Do they only come out when You bathe? Or do they also come out when you go swimming?

If so, then I would reccomend seeing your dermotologist, they will be able to help you solve this mystery!

Good luck!

Answer:
It is more likely you're allergic to a shampoo or soap. It might also be a sensitivity to hard water. You state you’ve sensitive skin, so do I, and a lot of things irritate my skin. Softened water isn’t one of them, but hard water sure is. Also, it is possible you live in an area where the tap water might be too chlorinated for your sensitive skin. That turned out to be the real problem for a friend of mine who insisted she was allergic to water.

Answer:
you are unlikely to be allergic to water. perhaps you’ve been sensitised by something else, and the warmth is bringing it out. Please think if you ahve used different washing liquid or something……Don't use anything in the bath, except E45 bath stuff. it sounds like mild excema or dermatitis.

See your school nurse, pharm acist, Practice nurse or GP lovely, and stop worrying. it will only make it worse!!

Answer:
maybe to many chemicals in your water supply? try filtered water on the inside of your wrist, if nothing happens after ten mins try the same thing again with normal tap water, if there’s no difference then you most likely are, you can go to your doc for a blood test which they’ll test for any allergy's

Also try Zirtec which is anti histamine which should help if you’re allergic to water

Answer:
