Yes is it contagious no matter who the carrier or the reciever is. Conjunctivitis is “Pink Eye” for those that don't know. You should protect yourself by washing your hands thoroughly after handing the animal or any of it's belongings. Also, you should take extra care in keeping the cage, toys, food dish, and water bottle cleaned for the duration of the infection. If you are already experiencing sore itchy eyes, then you should go to the doctor or health clinic immediatly for treatment, as you could also spread it to others around you.
