Eating disorder?

if you become anorexic and have to be hospitalized do they shove a tube down your throat to make you eat?

I used to work in an eating disorder unit. They will only put a tube down your nose into your stomach if you are refusing to eat anything and your weight is at a dangerous level where you’re at significant harm of damaging yourself!! You’ll find that eating with others going through the same thing helpful as you all support each other although be careful not to get into competing who has eaten the least! Going into hospital should be to help yourself and just see the other patients as ill too!!! So if you refuse to eat they may well put a tube down but they will give you each opportunity to eat before this happens. It is not a pleasant experience so I would say do try and eat…. easier said than done I know but you’re there to get superior!! Good Luck xx
