I have the chills, no appitite, weak, tired, i get light headed really easily, and my eyes kind of burn. I don't know if I have a fever though. I don't have a thermometer, and no one else is home, is there a way to know? I am home alone right now, and no one can feel my forehead. Also can I go to school tomorrow?

Answer:
If you have the chills, then you more than likely have a fever… but I'm not going to say you DO have one…. When I have one, I can usually tell by laying in bed and covering up.. if I have the chills but I get too warm under the blankets, then I know I have a fever.. also, I can usually just feel it in my body….Lay down and put a cool washcloth on your forehead.. or take a lukewarm shower/bath… about school.. if you have a fever tomorrow, then I wouldn't go because not only will you feel miserable, you will pass along your illness to others

hope you feel better soon!

Answer:
You have a fever. The burning eyes are always a sign of it…chills and weakness goes with it too.

Have you taken an IB or Tylenol?

You should not go out with a fever.

Answer:
hmm…I once saw people look at their pulse to tell if they were sick. I think it goes something like this: if your pulse is faster than usual then you are probably sick. Also, just touch your forehead to see if its warm.

IMO i would say you have a fever. if you have the chills, that's a sure sign. i would stay home & get some rest tomorrow. if you wake up in the middle of the night sweating, then your fever has broken. take tylenol and drink plenty of fluids. try some gatorade to replace your sodium & electrolytes.

can you tell i'm a mom? LOL!

hope you feel better!

Answer:
Drink water. Get some sleep. If you feel as bad in the morning., I think a day off school would be warranted. If you continue to feel the same past Noon, seek medical attention.

Answer:
if you have a temperature, your pulse will be faster too.

The best thing to do is go see a doctor.

Answer:
There is no way to tell you actually have fever without taking your temperature with a thermometer.

Even when someone feels your forehead, a lot of what they feel is determined by how warm or cool they are.

Symptoms, runny nose, coughing, watery eyes, etc. do not necessarily equal a fever although some illnesses usually present that way.

So, you really can't reliably tell that you have a fever without using a device that measures your body temperature.
