Cals? Fat?Carbs? Fiber?

Author: admin

Can somebody plz explain to me the difference and what they mean?What is Good and What is bad? thanks

Answer:
1) Calories give you energy. Everything, except water, has calories. Some calories, like the ones from fat, are bad for you. Others, like the ones from veggies, are good for you. When trying to loose weight, you have to burn more calories then you take in. (3500 calories = 1 pound).

2) Fat is fat. Its pretty self explanitory. When you consume too many calories, the ones that cant be burned are stored as fat. The bad fats are refered to as trans and saturated fat (in junk food). Good fats (like in nuts) are called polysaturated and monosaturated fats. Although fat seems discusting, you need a small amount to live.

3) Carbs (short for carbohydrates) are sugars and starches that also provide your body with energy. Simple carbs (found in fruits, white bread, simple sugars and most dairy products) are easily digested. Therefore, you feel full for shorter periods of time. Complex carbs (found in whole wheat bread, veggies, brown rice, ect) take longer to digest, so you feel fuller longer after eating them.

4) Fiber also keeps you feeling full. It also helps you go to the loo more often (as you might have heard, fiber makes you poop). That is why fiber is inclued in a lot of suscessful diets (because it keeps you full and helps you get rid of the junk). Fiber can be taken in pills or food.

As for what is good and what is bad, I would avoid simple carbs and saturated and trans fat. The rest of very good for you!

Good Luck :]

Answer:
a calorie is the unit of energy used to measure food. how much energy it will give your body, but if you eat too many calories than you need, you will gain weight. the average person needs about 2000 calories a day.

fat is pretty much fat. too much isn’t good for you, but some fats are healty for you such as fatty acids found in nuts and fish.

carbohydrates come from things like bread, wheat, pasta, potatoes, anything like that. carbs are also not very good for you because once they break down in your body they turn into sugar. that's all carbs are, complex sugars.

fiber is a mineral that’s indigestable, but absorbs water and can help you loose water weight.

Answer:
Cals= calories

Fat well its fat you need it in moderation but there are good fats and bad fats bad fats being trans fats and saturated fats
