any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.
Answer:
Typically, most people use the location of the sickness as a rule of thumb. If it's above your neck (sinus congestion, runny nose, etc.) you should be fine to work out.. and in fact doing so may help clear your congestion or temporarily alleviate your problems.
However, if it is below your neck (cough, fever, body aches, etc.) DO NOT attempt to work out. When you exercise, you tax your body and vital resources are needed by your body to support the muscle building and cardio activity of your workout. These resources would be better spent going to your immune system in your time of need. By working out, you are essentially robbing your immune system and making yourself susceptible to even more illnesses (or prolonging your current one).
Hope that helps. Be careful!
Answer:
First off, your usually dehydrated so working out dry isnt good for the muscles or joints and can cause injury. Besides that, Youll stay sicker longer because your body needs time to recoop!! Common sense stuff.. I am no angel cause i used to do it to myself also..
Answer:
Depends on how sick you are. If you're really sick, your body is putting all its energy and resources into getting better; if you use up energy by working out, you're making its job harder. But if you've just got a cold or something, going running can clear your breathing passages and make you be able to breathe better…so it can go both ways.
