Answer:
In the USA, root canals that have been cleaned and shaped (root canal therapy) are generally filled with a rubber material called gutta percha, plus some semi-liquid sealer. There are a number of techniques for filling the cleaned canals, and this is called obturation. There are a number of other materials that were used historically in the USA and are still used in other locales. Gutta percha and sealer are the standard of care.
But what you could be asking has to do with the “restoration” of a tooth that has received root canal therapy. If this is your question, some teeth (generally front teeth) can be restored with a resin filling. Generally, back teeth need to have a full coverage restoration put, such as a crown, which will reduce the chance of the tooth cracking and splitting and then being lost. Crowns can be made of metal, metal and porcelain, ceramic and porcelain, or all porcelain.
For further information, a consultation with a Dentist would be advisable.
