What do you think of adults that wear braces???

I think its better when adults wear braces, they can make the choice of wanting to take care of their teeth and be happy about the decision they made. I’m getting braces on friday and i am really excited that in a few years my teeth will be straight and i can smile again. My bf got them in middle school like most kids and hated them and didnt want to take care of his teeth once they were removed and wear his retainer. Now they’re crooked again. Great waste of money if you ask me.

i am 28 years old and just got my regular braces on in may of this year. reason being, because my parents couldn’t afford them when I was younger and I also have a twin so they would have been hit double with the cost. People honestly dont look at you any differently, some dont even realize I’ve braces. I could care less what people thought of it anyway, atleast my teeth will be beautiful when done. It also shows that the adults who do get braces actually care about their teeth unlike some people who dont!

personally i wouldnt want to have rbaces as an adult (but then i wouldnt want to have braces at ANY age either)

but the thing is…….just about everyone these days has or has had braces…so its not really abig deal. they know what its like because theyve been there and done that.

like someone said, invisalign is also an option…

but anyways, i dont think you should worry about it too much. jsut think about the perfect teeth youll have afterwards!!!

a lot of adults wear braces, when i was in second grade (i'm now going into my freshman year) one of the nicest teachers had braces, and she is actually a parent of one of my friends

It's embarassing for the person wearing them but necessary. And someone seeing them will get used to them after a time. I know someone in her 20's who wears them and she looks fine - you don't notice them after a while.

braces can be used any age now, the difference the duration the treatment lasts, it takes longer time in older ages, its never too late

Nothing! Shows they are about their teeth. Sometimes parents can't afford braces for their children, at least mine didn't.
