I think your lipid profile contributes to your CVD. In the briefest possible way to explain, it is LDL that really becomes the issue. When LDL becomes oxidized, the foam cells that form lead to the cascade of events that damage endothelial walls. The damaged endothelial walls are what lead to plaque formation, and eventually plaque rupture, and thus cardiac events.
